Jon Ingi Bergsteinsson

A biomedical engineer, exited MedTech SaaS founder, and now investor - passionate about helping teams bring meaningful healthcare technologies to market. I founded SMART-TRIAL in 2013, a clinical data platform used by hundreds of MedTech companies worldwide, and led it from idea to international scale and acquisition in 2022. Today, I split my time between building LIFA.VC, our first Nordic MedTech fund, and advising early-stage MedTech and SaaS startups. My experience spans the full company lifecycle: from product design and organizational development to clinical validation, go-to-market strategy, FDA and EU MDR/IVDR pathways, market access, and fundraising. I work with founders and investors to align regulatory, clinical, and commercial strategy, helping them make faster, evidence-based decisions that improve their odds of success. Special interests: MedTech (medical devices & diagnostics), SaaS, and AI-driven solutions.
